Rain totals..Next round!
There is a band along highway 36 that had some pretty impressive rainfall last night in upwards of 5 to 6+ inches. Chillicothee, MO picked up 6.65" just last night!
Here are a few more rain totals from locations around the area:
Chillicothe - 6.65"
St. Joseph - 2.90"
Trenton - 2.20"
Liberty - 2.75"
Cameron - 2.75"
Kansas City - 1.70"
The area of rain that caused all of that rain has moved to the northeast finally, but there is a new, large area of rain and heavy thunderstorms in eastern Kansas this morning moving into the area. This will stick around well into the afternoon and likely dump another 1-3 inches of rain in locations that picked up all the rain last night.
The data is showing heavy rains through Wednesday, so I think some locations will end up with 8 to 10 inches of rain when all is said and done. The good news is that a stronger cold front will push through Wednesday night that will bring in a refreshing air mass with highs in the 70's and lows in the lower 50's with 40's possible in northern Missouri.
I will discuss this later, right now we need to focus on the excessive rain.
